Surveys, Testing & Management
Help to identify and manage Asbestos in your building
We have more than 25 years experience in helping customers identify and manage asbestos in their buildings. We offer a number of different survey and testing options. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to asbestos, so if you’re unsure which one is right for you, please just give us a ring and we’ll be happy to talk through the options.
If you’re not planning any immediate or extensive works, but need to know where asbestos could be in your building so that you can write and action your asbestos management plan, then this is the survey for you.
It may or may not include sampling and testing for asbestos, depending on your needs, but at the end you will receive a complete, detailed report that can form part of your Asbestos Management Plan.
Asbestos management plans
If you need an asbestos management plan, we can guide you through the process of writing and actioning it. This can be done in conjunction with a survey, or separately if you have already completed one. We’ll make sure you are fully compliant and have all the necessary procedures in place to keep your workforce and visitors safe.

Asbestos sampling and testing
If you need to carry out works that will disturb or damage any materials that you suspect contain asbestos, you may need to test them to find out what precautions you need to take, if any at all.
We can take samples and carry out bulk sampling and are always happy to advise on whether testing is necessary, and if it is, the most cost effective and unobtrusive way to do so.
For an overview of when testing and sampling might be needed, read our blog on whether you need to test for asbestos.
Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys (R&D Surveys)
If you need to carry out any refurbishment or demolition that will cause damage to the fabric of the building, you’ll need an R&D survey. It involves substantial, intrusive testing of any affected areas. An R&D survey could be needed for something as simple as replacing a bathroom or kitchen, or installing new windows.
If you are about to undertake work that will disturb asbestos containing materials (or any that are suspected) you will need a competent person to carry out an asbestos risk assessment for you. We will establish the potential risk and specify the exact precautions that need to be taken to minimise it so that you can share this information with whoever is carrying out the work and make sure they are not put at risk.
